I am a Portuguese chemist, historian and philosopher of science.

I have a Ph.D. in AI & data-driven chemistry funded by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Portugal Program at the University of Porto (Portugal). I currently work in Artificial Intelligence for Computational Chemistry at Nagoya University (Japan), developing AI/ML methods for cheminformatics and molecular design.

I collaborate as a Visiting Researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History, Portugal, studying chemical explanation in philosophy of science and chemistry’s role in the rise of science-based regulation, with implications for contemporary “fake science” and misinformation.

I am also a Fulbright Scholar at the University of California, Irvine (United States), and I regularly write about science communication and public understanding of science.
